Library Rules and Regulations

RULES

  • Strict silence must be observed inside the library.
  • Newspapers, magazines and periodicals to be read only inside the library.
  • Personal belongings should not be brought into the library. Only one notebook will be allowed for reference work.
  • Each member will be given an allotted number of borrower’s tickets.
  • Reference books can be issued only for two days under specific request.
  • Normally books will be issued for 15 days for students.
  • Overdue charges will be collected if books are not returned on the specified date.
  • A written report should be submitted if the borrower’s ticket is lost. Duplicate will be issued within a week with Rs.15/- payment.
  • Damage of books should be reported immediately while receiving a book.
  • Books will be issued during working hours; returns can be made on any working day.
  • Lost books must be replaced with a new copy by the user.
  • All books must be returned two days before the end of each semester.
  • The librarian may reduce the lending period if the book is in demand or reserved.
  • An overdue charge of Rs.2/- per day per book will be levied if not returned on due date.

REGULATIONS

  • Library is open to all students and staff members of the college.
  • The Librarian is in charge of the library.
  • The library operates from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM on working days and from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturdays.

PART-TIME WORK EXPERIENCE SCHEME

Students desirous of joining this scheme in the library shall apply to the Principal in writing at the beginning of the year. Those selected under this scheme will be paid a small remuneration with budget provisions under this scheme. At present, 10 undergraduate students are working under the scheme.
